Small Two Annas of George V in 1934
George Frederick Ernest Albert was known as George V was the King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions and Emperor of India from 1910 until his death on 1936. He was born during the reign of his grandmother Queen Victoria. He was the second son of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales.
During the reign of George V, silver two annas were minted from 1911 to 1917 and Copper-nickel from 1918 to 1936. Both Silver and Copper-nickel two annas was minted in Calcutta and Bombay. Silver two annas were circular in shape. Copper-nickel two annas were rectangular with round corner and plain edge.
On 1934 Copper-nickel two annas were in rectangular shape 21.2mm x 21.2mm, with a weight around 5.81g. Thickness was around 1.8mm. Followed by the references of different books on British Indian coinage, two annas were minted only in Calcutta on 1934. There was no mint mark for Calcutta. But I found a comparatively small two annas of 1934 as below photos with a dimension of 20.9mm x 20.9mm and thickness of 1.5mm. Weight was found 4.59g. Also, it was without dot at reverse, similar to Calcutta mint. Letters on this coin was thicker than regular Calcutta minted two annas of 1934. There has an extra visible dot at obverse below the king.
